Amiconi Restaurant is a fully licensed & BYO Italian Restaurant located in West Melbourne. We have been feeding Melbournians for over 60 years.
In 1950’s The Amiconi family opened up a small eatery on 359 Victoria St, West Melbourne. The shop previously was a barber salon. They wanted to introduce their own home-style cooking to locals who in those days were the “Bohemians” of North & West Melbourne, mostly the university teachers and professors who regularly visited Amiconi.
We love what we do and it’s not rare that we would remember what you drink and what your favourite dish is. We have great success in having our first-time customers return with their family, friends, or colleagues.
The consistent quality of our food and service is the key and we’re committed to maintaining it for generations to come.
When Guy and Paula of the Amiconi family decided it was time for their retirement in 1982, Michele took over the restaurant with his brother Angelo, maintaining the name and the traditions established by the family. Although Angelo left much earlier, Michele has continued the journey to this day.
After having Joe on board as a chef since 1994 and Vince since 2000, Michele decided it was time for their strong working relationship turned into a partnership.
Amiconi has been feeding generations of returning customers. Tradition is a history that one creates through one’s lifetime with great food, great friendships, and great memories.
